What to Expect
BeforeTreatment
People snore because the air moving through the nasal passage is affected by a blockage, either through the nose or the mouth, which causes the snoring noise. When the airway is blocked, it takes more effort to draw air in, making it harder to breathe; some people even stop breathing (apneic event) for a few seconds. This is called sleep apnea.
Finding out what dental sleep disorder you may have is extremely important before you begin receiving treatment using sleep dentistry.

DuringTreatment
A custom-fitted oral appliance or mouthpiece should be worn by most people who snore or have obstructive sleep apnea (OSA).
The mouthpiece adjusts your bottom jaw forward to make more room at the back of the throat. This helps keep the airway open, causing less obstruction, and minimizing snoring and sleep apnea.

I recommend this practice to family and friends. I personally look forward to seeing Dr. Ullrich and Kelli again. There is no higher compliment.
Excellent group of professionals that are a pleasure to visit. Always willing to work with you to provide solutions to your dental needs. I’ve been a patient for over 30 years and highly recommended them.
The staff is always friendly and welcoming. They talk to you like a person and not just another “patient”. They explain everything and take their time to answer questions for as long as it takes. The best dental office I’ve ever been a patient of.
One of the best experiences at a dentist in a long time. After an exhaustive search for a new dentist they came highly recommended from coworkers and I can see why. From the office staff who were very helpful, the hygienist who made sure I was aware of what was going on at every step and the tech who did my X-rays and scans was one of the nicest people I've met in a long time. You can't go wrong with them.
I am impressed after my first appointment with Dr Ullrich. I was dreading my appointment since I had not seen a dentist in years. She put me at ease and was gentle, thorough, and explained my next steps.
This dental office has taken care of me and my family for many years. We can’t say enough good things about them. They are very professional, clean, friendly, gentle and caring. They are affordable and very knowledgeable!

They are the best of the best! The dental assistants are so friendly, Dr Brubaker is the best! They are all so friendly
My childhood experience with my home town dentist left me fearing going to the dentist... until being introduced to this practice. What an amazing and painless approach to dentistry. Friendly, welcoming and capable. Thank you
Everyone was friendly. Dr.Edwards did a thorough job reviewing my Xray and explained everything clearly. The technician that did my X-rays was great

What are the benefits of oral appliances to treat dental sleep disorders?
Portability – Because they are small and lightweight and do not require electricity or batteries, oral anti-snoring appliances are excellent for travel where CPAP machines can be bulky and take up space.
Comfort – For mild to moderate OSA, oral appliances are just as effective as CPAP therapy and more comfortable.
Low Maintenance - Mouthpieces are low-maintenance, with no replacement parts and no need for re-ordering supplies.
Quiet – Oral appliances are silent, unlike the CPAP.
Discreet – Since the appliance is worn at night, there is no stigma associated with a treatment or disease.
Affordable – While most insurance companies cover both the CPAP and dental oral appliances for sleep apnea, the oral appliance is often more affordable.
Long-term results – In most cases, the oral appliance treatment option has excellent long-term results, since most people continue to use them because they are comfortable, convenient, affordable and discreet.
